Logitech Sync 2023: Enhancements for Efficient Device Management

With Logitech Sync, our goal is to simplify the job of IT teams by providing a comprehensive set of tools that empower them to effectively manage their devices remotely. 

This past year, the platform got even better. Let’s check out all the new features that came to Sync. 

Quick Review: What is Logitech Sync? 

Sync is our remote device management solution to manage, fine-tune, and monitor all spaces, whether it’s the conference room, a flex desk, or a workspace at home. Insights for Rooms, Both In and Out of Meetings

While most virtual meeting platforms offer reporting and analytics for virtual meetings through their software, what makes Sync Insights valuable is its ability to tell you how your rooms and devices are being used. With usage data provided by Sync Insights, teams have been able to identify overused and underused rooms, enabling collaboration with workplace and real-estate teams to optimize office layouts tailored to employee behaviors. 

This year, we introduced “Out of Meeting Occupancy” for Sync Insights to allow IT teams to visualize room usage data even when the camera isn’t active. This now provides the complete picture of how rooms are utilized for hybrid and in-person meetings.

Shared Desks Come to Sync

With the launch of Logi Dock Flex, we introduced Logitech’s desk booking solution, with setup, configuration, and insights within Logitech Sync. Admins can upload site maps, define points of interest, and, most importantly, set up bookable desks for employees to reserve through the Logitech Tune application. 

After desk booking has been set up, Sync provides IT teams with essential insights on shared desk usage, including popularity, usage trends, and usage types. With the addition of desk booking, Sync now offers a comprehensive set of insights covering all aspects of the office, from rooms to desks. 

Product Hub in Sync

With each software update, our devices are constantly getting better. That’s one of the primary reasons customers love working with Logitech. With the introduction of Product Hub in Sync, we provide a comprehensive resource library to inform you how your devices and software are evolving. More specifically, users can find this information in Product Hub:

Device & Software Updates

Product Hub provides an extensive list of updates for Logitech appliance, USB, and personal workspace devices. We also list updates for our software applications, Logitech Sync and Tune. Select the product from the navigation menu to access its release history. 

Known Issues

The known issues section lists the commonly-faced device issues that Logitech is actively addressing. This helps customers determine whether an issue is isolated or one that’s been identified across multiple instances.

Product Guides

To ensure users make the most of their devices, the “Learn” section offers a wealth of articles and videos explaining product features and providing essential updates on new features, including those in collaboration with our partners like Zoom, Microsoft, and Google.

Org-Level Activity Data

In addition to providing users with activity logs for different rooms, Sync now offers organization-level activity logs. This includes tracking activities like user creation and setting changes at the organization level. 

Sync Reports

Sync Insights is a valuable tool not only for IT but also for adjacent teams like workplace services and real estate. Sync Reports allows you to schedule regular data exports from Sync so teams can integrate that data with other tools for cross-comparison, enabling a deeper understanding of how various aspects of the business interact.

Camera Zone in Sync App and Sync Portal

Camera Zone was a feature we introduced to fine-tune the framing zone of cameras, ensuring that only the action in the room was being captured. That feature is now available for PC-based rooms through Sync Porta and can also be configured remotely through Logitech Sync.
